The cohort experience

To enhance the certification experience and better support candidate success, we have transitioned to a cohort-based model. Rather than progressing entirely independently, certification candidates now move through key stages alongside a group of peers following the same timeline.

This approach offers several important benefits:

  • A stronger support network: Candidates can connect with others who are working toward the same certification goals, reducing the sense of isolation.
  • Greater accountability and momentum: Shared milestones and timelines help candidates maintain progress and stay focused on completing certification requirements.
  • Opportunities for peer learning and review: Candidates benefit from discussing concepts, sharing experiences, and learning from the diverse perspectives of fellow professionals. Previous cohorts have also benefitted from peer-reviewing skill demonstrations.
  • A more consistent certification experience: Cohorts enable us to provide structured guidance, timely communications, and coordinated support throughout the certification journey.
  • Stronger professional connections: Candidates build relationships with peers across the profession, expanding their networks and creating opportunities for ongoing collaboration beyond certification.
  • Higher success rates: Cohort-based approaches have been shown to increase engagement, persistence, and completion by combining structure with community support.

The move to a cohort model reflects our commitment to maintaining a rigorous certification process while providing candidates with the support, connection, and momentum needed to successfully achieve certification.
